Whiskey Mike was a "ground up rebuild" project, and was completed in  3 1/2 years.

 She has been modified to a J1N with the removal of the Cirrus Minor 2 and installing of the gypsy major, larger rudder etc.This has greatly enhanced the performance. WMM was originally a J1 built in 1946.

She re-entered the aviation world with a flight at Jandakot, WA on 14 December 2003 . Everything went according to plan and she flies like a true Auster. This was the first flight since 1992 and was previously owned by Robin and Anne Hughes in Vic. 

 This project started started in August 2000 with a 6000 KM (5 day) return trip across the Nullaboor from WA to St Arnard in Victoria to pick her up towing a 24 ft trailer all the way !!!
