Auster J1b Aiglet, VH-EHP, serial number 2667, began life in 1950 and was the first J1b to be built as such. Previous examples of this type had been assembled from left over J1 parts.

2667 was first used in Queenstown, New Zealand and registered ZK-AWS.

By 1960 2667 was in Australia being rebuilt by Kingsford Smith Aviation Services and registered VH-EHP.  From there it went to north Queensland where it was operated around Muttaburra.

During the 1970’s it was in southeast Queensland.

In January 1986 David & Gail Charles bought EHP and moved it to Murwillumbah, N.S.W.  It’s been operated from there since then and has been seen regularly at events in the northern N.S.W. and SE Queensland regions.
